Issues
In the face of the fragmentation of scientific literature around the individual article as a unit, this project proposes to reexamine the unity and uniqueness of a journal at the scale of its history. Journals offer continuity between issues and articles that is underutilized and deserves attention.
Technical challenges
Technical challenges focus on XML-TEI annotation and the extraction of relevant data.
Research activities
- Use of articles available on OpenEdition from the journal Itinéraires as a use case for automatic knowledge extraction and the linking of articles based on bibliographic or semantic aspects (citation agreement and disagreement).
- Visualization of cross-cutting themes and their evolution in the journal’s history, along with the development of a standalone website for the journal’s 50th anniversary.
- Simplified integration of Stylo exports into validated XML formats for both OpenEdition and tools like LEAF-Writer and/or NERVE.
